Hi, my name is Alona, and I am a tech sourcer.
Over the past 6+ years, I have gathered priceless experience in agency, scale-up environments, and big tech. Throughout my career, I've sourced for both business and tech roles, but I'm most passionate about niche tech positions.
My perfect day at work (which is my home office) looks like this: brewing a fresh filter coffee and gearing up for some deep focus time. I thrive on the challenge of niche roles: understanding candidate personas, conducting market research, crafting and tweaking Boolean strings.
Whether I'm adding or excluding keywords, identifying the best sourcing channels, or creating irresistible outreach strategies, I find immense satisfaction in the process. What tops it all for me, though, is engaging in conversations with the brightest minds in the industry—whether with candidates or hiring teams.
Outside of work, I enjoy stargazing through my telescope, photography, and pottery. I'm also a big fan of clean graphic design, specialty coffee, the cosmos, and Wes Anderson movies.
The Pop in My Job:
During my tenure at eBay, I've supported hiring efforts across both business and tech domains. Currently, my focus lies in building eBay’s next ML hub in Berlin and scaling existing teams. What excites me most is the opportunity to engage with top talent in Machine Learning and Applied Research within the industry.
I am passionate about sourcing, market research, knowledge sharing, and networking. I firmly believe that cultivating strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates, with a touch of so(u)rcery, is the secret to the best hiring experiences.
